Enrolment

St Stanislaus’ College Bathurst, as the oldest continuing Catholic boys’ boarding and day school, welcomes students from all faith backgrounds to share in the journey of becoming a Stannies Man.

Stannies is a school where boys are encouraged to find their place and celebrate their gifts. Students have access to a range of opportunities in academic, sporting, creative arts, agriculture and trades. College staff work tirelessly to encourage students to engage in all aspects of College life.

Students come to the College from local areas including Bathurst, Orange, Lithgow and Oberon. Boarding students join us from far western areas including Wanaaring, Walgett and Warren, to closer western areas including Dubbo, Coonamble, Narromine, Mendooran and also Cowra, Grenfell and Mudgee. Students also join us from the Sydney basin, enjoying a tree change with their schooling. Day and boarding students have the opportunity to forge friendships that last a lifetime.

The College offers enrolment as a day student, weekly boarding (4 or 5 night) or full boarding.

Enrol at Stannies

Applications for enrolment can be made via the online enrolment portal.

To ensure that families can complete the online enrolment process, the following documentation is required as an attachment to the online form:

  • Your son’s Birth Certificate;
  • NAPLAN test results;
  • Two most recent school reports;
  • Family Court Orders (if applicable);
  • Specific medical information relevant to your son’s learning needs;
  • Immunisation history statement;
  • Personalised plans, if applicable (eg: health plan, asthma plan, anaphylaxis plan, learning plan or behaviour management plan).

Payment of the non-refundable enrolment fee of $150 day student or $300 boarding student is required at the time of submission of enrolment application.

For students enrolling in Year 7, applications must be received by the close of Term 2 in the preceding year. Students enrolling into Years 8 to 11 are welcome to apply at any time during the school year. A waitlist is established for enrolments where year groups have reached capacity.

Following receipt of the enrolment application, the College Registrar will schedule an appointment for your family to meet the Head of College and chat about life at Stannies. This is an opportunity for families to discuss whether Stannies is the right fit for their family.

Following a successful meeting with the Head of College, an offer of enrolment is provided. Families are required to accept this enrolment to ensure that their son’s enrolment is confirmed.

Once enrolment has been confirmed, planning commences in relation to uniform needs, technology requirements, school fee payments, etc. The College Registrar is able to assist families with all aspects of the enrolment journey, including guiding them through this planning phase.

Transport

For day students, local bus services operate on a bus pass system. Families will need to apply via School Transport for a bus pass. The College then approves the request and a bus pass is issued to families from School Transport. If families need information regarding which bus their son should catch, please contact Bathurst Buslines or Orange Buslines.

Boarding students are entitled to free travel home within NSW. The College facilitates all transport bookings for the start of term, end of term and weekend leave. Parents submit requests via the Boarding Portal, REACH, and College staff ensure that bookings are made and a travel ticket is supplied to parents so they know what transport has been booked for their son. Boarding students travel on a Boarders Travel Pass (Concession Entitlement). This pass is arranged through College Reception at time of enrolment and students must carry this pass with them at all times when travelling on booked services. Boarding students are transported to and from the Bathurst Station to ensure they reach their booked services on time and to ensure they are collected when they return to Bathurst.

Community Visits and Expos

The College makes every effort to connect with our community locally and regionally. The College is represented at the annual Boarding Schools Expo in Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Narrabri. In addition, staff visit our regional communities on an ad-hoc basis to connect with current, past and prospective families. College staff enjoy connecting with our community and encourage families to take the opportunity to do so – details are shared via our College Newsletter and social media pages.
